I’m Natasha Lunt and Whiskers Wild is my pet project.

I have three lovely cats of my own and when long-haired Lily needed a trim, I was shocked to find that there was no one locally who specialised in cat grooming. (Lily is a fan of sitting out in the rain and rolling in mud, so you can imagine my concern!)

Although I was working in finance crunching figures, I’d also grown up loving animals. So I realised it was time to consider a change of direction and launched my own cat grooming and pet/house sitting service.

No need to resort to a dog groomer any more or pay for an expensive trip to the vet. Whiskers Wild is ready to help.

I’m Natasha, Master Cat Groomer and founder of Whiskers Wild – a feline-only grooming service born from love, loss, and a deep respect for our companions.

With over four years of experience in Cat Grooming, Whiskers Wild is the result of a journey that started with my beloved cat, Lily. Lily was a beautiful, long-haired girl – full of charm, but prone to matting. Like many cat owners, I didn’t know how to properly care for her coat, and struggled to find help that was both gentle and knowledgeable. Before Lily passed she had become very fond of grooming and would often come running over to me if I had a brush in my hand, she will always be a big part of Whiskers Wild.

What began as a two-day introductory course quickly became a calling. I fell in love with the art of cat grooming, and never looked back. Today, I’m a certified Master Cat Groomer, offering expert grooming services with a calm, compassionate approach that puts your cat’s comfort first.

At Whiskers Wild, every appointment is tailored to suit your cat’s unique personality and coat type. Whether it’s a luxurious lion cut, gentle deshedding, or a stress-free nail trim, your cat is treated with patience, skill, and care in a peaceful, feline-focused environment.

When I’m not grooming, I’m enjoying the chaos and joy of family life. I live with my cat Loki, a mischievous little muse, a couple of ducks, chickens, my wonderful daughter and my partner James who keeps everything running in the background – Our home is always full of fur, feathers, and love, and it’s this spirit that inspires everything I do at Whiskers Wild.

My training

After a full 150 hours of training at the Cat Grooming School in London, I qualified as a Master Cat Groomer, which means that I’ve not only learnt everything I need in terms of clipping techniques, scissor work and style, but I’m also confident in handling your feline and calming them down. Even if your cat tends to be a little on the aggressive or stubborn side, I’m confident that I can provide a top-notch service. During my training, I was never bitten or scratched on any occasion. It’s really important that I listen and understand every cat that I am working with and create a trusting environment.

After completing 150 hours of hands-on training at the Cat Grooming School in London, I proudly qualified as a Master Cat Groomer. This means I’ve been fully trained in everything from clipping and scissor techniques to breed-specific styling and coat care – but just as importantly, I’ve learned how to handle each cat with patience, sensitivity, and respect.

Whether your cat is shy, feisty, or a little on the stubborn side, I create a calm, trusting environment where they feel safe. During my entire training, I was never bitten or scratched – something I credit to my gentle approach and ability to tune into each cat’s individual needs. For me, grooming isn’t just about how your cat looks when they leave – it’s about how they feel while they’re in my care.

How I work

While the coronavirus pandemic continues, you can drop off your cat with me, although once restrictions are lifted, I’m happy to travel to you too. I’m based in North Derbyshire, but will travel as far as Sheffield or Nottingham to help out cat-lovers. If you live in the Chesterfield area, I am able to offer a local collect and drop-off service.

The first appointment for your cat might last a couple of hours and subsequent visits will tend to be slightly shorter. I make sure that your pet is properly pampered and comes away looking a million dollars.

Whiskers Wild is based in Chesterfield, North Derbyshire, where I’ve created a peaceful, fully equipped cat grooming studio right in my home. You’re welcome to drop your cat off and head out for a coffee, or stay and relax while I work – whatever suits you and your feline friend best. I operate on a one-cat-at-a-time schedule to ensure a calm, stress-free experience (though cats from the same household are welcome to come together).

For cats who find travelling difficult or just prefer being at home, I also offer a mobile grooming service, bringing the Whiskers Wild experience straight to your door. I cover Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, and Nottinghamshire, and bring everything I need to deliver a high-quality groom in the comfort of your cat’s own home. All I ask is for a quiet space where I can work gently and your cat can feel at ease.

Appointments are strictly by booking only, allowing me to give each cat the time and attention they deserve.

Animals play a big part in my home life too. I have cats, chickens and ducks. No matter what the weather’s doing, there’s no better way to start the day than spending time outside listening to the animals chatting away. And then cuddling up on the sofa with the cats at the end of the day.

I believe very much in sustainability.

For me, that means choosing animal-friendly, cruelty-free products. Single-use wipes and buds are simply no good for our environment, so I aim to sanitise, reuse and recycle wherever possible.

What cats do I work with?

Any feline can potentially need grooming, although long-haired cats are obviously in particular need of attention. It may also be that your pet has got older or is in poor health and finds it difficult to keep up their own self-grooming regime. So even if they’re a short-haired variety, they may need some tender loving care.

I also work with professional ethical breeders to care for their queens and studs.

At Whiskers Wild, I welcome cats of all breeds, coat types, ages, and temperaments. Whether your feline is a high-maintenance Persian, a sleek short-hair, a senior sweetheart, or a spicy kitten still getting used to grooming, I tailor each session to suit their individual needs. I have extensive experience working with matted coats, excessive shedding, and impacted undercoats, and always take a gentle, patient approach to ensure your cat is as comfortable as possible throughout the process. I’m also confident handling nervous or reactive cats, building trust with a calm energy and feline-first mindset. From routine maintenance to full coat makeovers, my goal is to make every cat look and feel their best – at a pace and style that’s right for them.

Because of my good working relationship with cats, I am also delighted to help look after your pet if you’re away on holiday or for work. This may sometimes involve just popping in a couple of times a day to check on kitty and make sure they have food, fresh water and clean litter trays. And, of course, lots of cuddles and playtime! I can also water plants and take the bins out. If there’s anything else you need doing, just let me know.

Pricing: £12.50 per visit
plus £1 per mile (return) if your home is more than five miles from S42 5RQ. 

25% deposit required 
Refundable if cancelled more than 48 hours before visit.
Full payment on completion of service.

Our pet sitting service offers stress free care for your feline companions in the comfort of their own home. Whether you’re away for a weekend or an extended break, we provide daily visits for feeding, litter cleaning, playtime and of course plenty of fuss! – All tailored to your cats routine. As a local, cat-loving service based in Chesterfield, we give you peace of mind with regular updates and dependable, compassionate care.

Pricing: £20 per visit
plus £0.50 per mile (return) if your home is more than five miles from S42 5WD.

When providing you with a price there are several factors that I need to consider which will be assessed during the consultation. These include:

Dry Bath Service (No water used)

Claw Clipping
Clipping off and brushing out all knots and matted fur
Full body brush using conditioning spray or waterless
Foam shampoo depending on coat type
Hygiene clean (Eyes/Ears and Bum)
Hygiene and tummy trims – on customer request
Finishing style based on customer request and lead by cat tolerance, which can include tidying paws, scissor trimming and clipping
Grooming frequency recommendation, advice on grooming products and aftercare

Prices are a guide and cannot be confirmed over the phone. An initial estimated price will be provided and then agreed when assessing the cat at consultation and before I begin grooming your pet.

Home Visits

There is a minimum call out charge of £25 for home visits.

All home visits include a Home Visit Service Charge which is 50p/mile return from S42 5WD within a 40 mile radius. Over this the charge will be £1/mile.
